My name is Nicholas McWhirter. Most folks call me "Nick."

I'm an architect, photographer and fifth-generation Texan based in Dallas.

My interests include early classical music, contemporary art, and bánh mì sandwiches.

I am a principal at SHM Architects.

As a photographer, I collaborated with Daniel Vaughn on a book project exploring regional styles of barbecue across Texas. Over 300 of my color photographs from eight road trips fill our book, The Prophets of Smoked Meat, which was published by Anthony Bourdain / Ecco-HarperCollins in 2013.
